Meet ________!

______ is an (obviously) unnamed character that I created in CAS, and eventually planned on introducing to the SH spinoff series. Speaking of the Saskan Harbour Legacy, should I just change the name to something more generic in case of another world crash? I suppose I could simply say "Dillard Family Legacy", but the whole point of the SH Legacy blog was to sort of blog about the whole town...which didn't work out, but still. :P Also, I don't think I would call it a legacy anymore. I mean, from the very beginning, it was about more than just skilling, promotions, etc. But when asked to describe what genre I write, I said it was a legacy. So I'm confusing myself, really.

Oh, did I mention that I'm blogging on sleep aids right now? ...yeah.

So uhhh...oh right. Here's _______.

Anyway, I've spent fifteen minutes trying to rack my brain to figure out what might make this character tick, and how she could fit in the spinoff. So since I'm a little..."disadvantaged" at this point, I'm asking for an outsider's POV. Without giving too much away, I need to know these things:

1. What kind of stereotype does she look like to you?

2. What traits/personality would she have?

3. What would be her vice(s)?

4. What would be her advantage(s)?

That would help me a looot. Then I could finally figure out why her story isn't coming to me, and what I'd need to tweak...

Anyway, off to bed for me. :)

  1. Oooh, she's a pretty one! The first thing that comes to mind is that she seems very earthy and bohemian. Maybe even a little artsy too. As far as traits go, I think eco-friendly/loves the outdoors, and artistic/virtuoso/savvy sculptor would match up well.

  2. Ahh, thank you!! That's exactly what I was aiming for. :) I have special plans for her in the spinoff...*evil cackle*

  3. I'd have to agree. She looks really eco-friendly, maybe vegatarian... I kinda see maybe 'Shy' fitting into the mix, too. She looks like someone that sort of flows against the grain but isn't very pushy about it... Like a dreamer that lives in her own little world, and expresses herself through her art. Just my impression, though!

Also, a Legacy really is basically just following one family through the generations. I know my own issues are kinda towards the Legacy "challenges" (which most Legacy blogs seem to be), but honestly, my own story could be called a Legacy, I just choose not to because I didn't start the story on Generation 1, I don't keep a legacy 'Name' (I eventually with drop Kane for something else), and it moves so slow that it takes months to get from one generation to the next.

Still, call the blog whatever you like. I think my own preferences would kind of lean towards something that has something unique to you or to the story... 'Our Story' or 'Sim Stories' seem a little too generic. It's good in a way because it covers a broad spectrum of anything you could write about, but at the same time, it doesn't seem very unique. I suggest adding a little flavor just for differentiation, but in the end, it's not what the blog is called, but what contents the blog holds! :D

Best of luck on your decisions! <3

  4. That's pretty accurate, actually. That's kind of the path that I intended for her to go on, but with a bit of a twist. Thankfully I've written her story down in notepad and I've figured out her traits, so that's taken care of. :)

Yeah, but see...the thing with that is I'm probably going to deviate from writing about just one family. I'm going to try and cover some of the sims in the world that I think have a pretty interesting story. Like Laura's Lakeside Heights, or Sullivan Sims, except a lot less polished, lol. That's why I kind of get stuck on whether or not I would call it a "legacy" anymore.

Yeah, the generic names were basically something I came up with off the top of my head, I was thinking about maybe merging the two highest rated titles or creating some sort of title that originated from the highest rated title. Last resort, I'd simply choose the regular generic one. But I'm with you on wanting uniqueness, definitely.
