Fun With Animals - First Upload :)

God,  this new Blogger format just reminds me of how long it's been since I've updated. I don't even know how to use it! Ah well, it's intuitive enough I guess.

Anyway, I've made a new painting for upload! I thought I'd share it with you guys.

credits to freedigitalphotos.net

It is one picture/download/frame/whatever with three different pictures. It is available in package form only (although I could do sims3packs for those who prefer it). Hope you all enjoy, and use liberally in your kids rooms!

TOU:
-Please give credit if you use it in your lots
-Please do not reupload as your own creation
-Please do not upload to paysites

P.S. thinking about starting a simblr. Hmm...what do you guys think? :)

Lot Tour: The Marina Boardwalk

I was thinking of where I wanted to have my festivals when Seasons comes out, and I decided that a boardwalk would be the perfect place for my sims to congregate for town events! It has an indoor year-round ice-cream shop (that will sell hot chocolate during the winter months), a playground for kids, a party area, a stage for performers, a section for live bands and a surf shop.

Here's a section for adults, which is a little drab compared to the section for children. I'm hoping to fix that as soon as Seasons makes its debut. ;)

Michael's Pizzeria

A TSD friend linked to this buyable pizza mod by xdarkshadowx and I just had to try it out. So, I made a quickie pizzeria!

Important CC used:
-buyable pizza (previously mentioned) - works
-pizza made purchasable at grocery store - doesn't work (in this particular scenario)
-ani's shop mod -works

The result proved to be interesting. The buyable pizza can be put in the sims' inventory and transferred to a chest (or chest-like) for purchase, but the grocery store mod doesn't work on food registers so the 2nd mod isn't needed to have a functional pizzeria. That's a huge "duh" moment for me. *facepalm*

A lot of the slots on the bakery display are too small for pizza boxes, since they were meant for small pastries, but there are four slots that work perfectly with the box. If someone *COUGH* could make decorative pizzas, they would look great in these display cases. :)

So anyway, pictures!!

Before I even started construction, Janice started thinking about a bakery...or a pizzeria. She's obviously psychic.

The pizzeria, in all its rushed and lackluster glory.

And there I am on the far right, looking suspicious as hell. Hi me! *waves*

Unless you want your sims to have other foods besides pizza, I don't recommend using the diner rug. Sims can be so lazy sometimes; if they have the option of going to a rabbit hole instead of using the food register, they will.

Needless to say, I got rid of the rug.

If you plan on using the buyable pizzas, I strongly recommend fixing them first using the TSR Rigfix or some other program. Otherwise they may bork your game.

As always, thanks for reading! :)

Pool Curve Tutorial

Here is a tutorial on pool corners, as requested. :)

First, you want to start with a square (or rectangular) pool. For the purpose of this tutorial, we'll start with a 4x4.

Then, we'll grab a concave pool corner and place them on the top sides of the pool. No need to play with the height or the width right now, just keep the default size.

After this step is completed, return back to the regular pool tool and fill in the gap until it looks like this. Voila! You've got a sorta curvy pool!

Now the convex corners are a little trickier, and not as versatile. They are best suited for creating more "modern" and funky shapes, and I haven't really found a practical use for them yet. For now, we'll just rotate and place them at the ends of the pool so you get the feel of what it looks like.

And of course if you wanted to, you could take the convex corners and put them on the top sides of the pool...

...and then drag upwards to create this!

So as you can tell, this is a very simplified tutorial covering only the basics. I would get more advanced, but it's not really something you can "plan out". It's pretty hit and miss. You just kind of experiment with the shapes and then think to yourself  "Oh hey, that looks kind of neat!"

Happy pool-making! :)

The Big Reveal...

...or not. ;)

For the past God-knows-how-long, I've been working on building a world from the ground up. I started off with a medium lifespan and a few closely placed shacks far away from the city, and now, due to their medical and scientific advancement, I can play on an Epic lifespan and my sims are now approaching the outskirts of the city. It's major progress! :)

This new blog documents the lives of the third generation; the descendants, the immigrants, and some other third thing. I've been working really hard on this, so I don't think I'll flake out. I hope I won't flake out.

Enough rambling...here it is! Plum City Times

I hope you all enjoy!

Johnny Gold: Back to da Valley vs. TWINSIES!

So, my return into Johnny's life wasn't too well-received, to put it lightly.

Johnny: "Wha? Where am I? I had a really long dream that I was gettin' down with virgins and woohookers and now I'm..."

At a trailer park in Sunset Valley.

Johnny: "You're lying to me. I don't believe it. This is just another one of those dreams..."

Suntan: "Grrrr...."

Johnny: "See? You gotta stop playin' around, Big C! You're freakin' out Suntan!"

Hmm, Suntan seems to like his new digs. At least someone appreciates me. *eye roll*

First thing Johnny wanted to do was join the Professional Sports Career. I'm not one to crush dreams, so I'm letting him. Soon after, he had wants like "take a class in athletic", "gain an athletic skill point", and "buy a pet bowl"; is my little Johnny growing up? :')

...Nope. *facepalm*

Johnny: "I was just tryin' to butter you up, Big C. I'm workin' hard, but you can only keep a party animal like me down for so long." *fist pumps*

You don't even know anyone!

Johnny: "So then make me some friends!"

Uh-uh. You make you some friends.

Johnny: "Okay, so now we're chillin' at the beach...this ain't so bad. Kinda like BlueVille. Oh hey look, there's a sim!"

Yes! There's a sim! Hang on while I edit him in CAS...

*fifteen minutes later*

Yes! There's a sim! Now go talk to him.

Johnny: "What, you're not gonna tell me to talk to him?"

I just did.

Johnny: "You know what I mean."

Nope. Your party, your friends, your actions. I'll tell you to greet him but what you do from there is entirely your decision.

Both: "Who the fram are you?!"

Ehmahgaw, TWINSIES!

Suntan: "Yeah...I'll just take this opportunity to chew on the furniture."

Agnes couldn't help but feel a little uneasy as Jared and Johnny stared each other down.

Agnes: "Oh no...there's two of them!"

Of course, to end the uncomfortable awkwardness between the two of them, I had Johnny greet the recently widowed damsel.

Agnes: "Hmm, this fellow looks familiar. Haven't I read about him before?"

Agnes: "So you're new here, right?"

Johnny: "Why yes, yes I am...if you're wanting to show me around." *wink*

Agnes: "Maybe later. But for now, I should tell you the Legend of Pleasantview."

Agnes: "...and it is often said by fortune tellers everywhere that Sunset Valley would collapse into a town full of loading screens, and a valuable goth will go missing."

Johnny: "Gasp! Not the goths!"

Morgana: "Oh Creator, again with those myths Agnes?!"

Suntan: "...I honestly don't know why I'm here."

Because you're cute! :D

Suntan: "Oh. Okay!"

Morgana: "I just wanted you to know that the sun will come out tomorrow and Sunset Valley is perfectly safe. So don't listen to Agnes' silly stories! Just smile and carry on knowing that you'll be dead by the apocalypse anyway!"

Agnes: "Dead...apocalypse...my dear husband..." :'(

Jocasta: "Gosh, it's so crowded here! I hope no one smells my farts."

Jocasta: "Keep it together girl...keep it together."

Keep it classy, Sunset Valley.

Monte Education Center

Not much has happened in my game outside of a meteor attack and a brief TSD update of Johnny Gold that I've been too lazy to move here...so I thought maybe I'd spoil you all with a favorite building of mine. :)

It's called the Monte Education Center, and I made it to cater to the school-aged children since there are/were no schools yet. It even has a designated study room for those who need to brush up on skill points - no more hunting for the right bookcase! *dances*
